Pumpkins, Parades, and Spooky Trains

Our annual week of Halloween activities kicked off Saturday with pumpkin carving. Reagan chose the design, mom drew it on the pumpkin, and dad was left to gut and carve. I think she turned out pretty cute for a smelly pumpkin.

Sunday evening we took the boys to our church's Fall Fest. The weather was perfect and the kids loaded their bellies with popcorn, hot dogs, and candy. They had games, a hay maze, inflatables, and a "train".

Ryan was not too sure about the train at first, but decided to tolerate it.

Next on the calendar was the PREP School Parade. Wasn't sure if Ryan would be willing to wear his pirate costume. The hat managed to survive, but the goatee was gone by the time we got to school. Looks like I just forgot to wipe his mouth after breakfast. Reagan was very proud of his costume and was more than happy to pose for a few pictures.

Arrrgh!

The parade went well until Ryan decided to break ranks and make his own route. Refusing to let him twist off this early in life, I grabbed him up and kept marching. You can see how happy he was with my decision.

Reagan looking good as the Man of Steel.

Candy Crazed Today Reagan had his classroom party. I had brought a bag of sticky frogs for him to share with his friends. They were a big hit and he was really excited. I am sure his teachers were less enthused.
Mmm...more sugar.

The Boys Who Stare at Goats

Last weekend we visited the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler with John's family. The highlight came at the end when the boys got to pet and brush goats in the petting zoo.

Ryan seems to be planning a kamikaze attack on this poor billy. Fortunately for all involved, he only gave the goat a nice whap on the ear.

Reagan was much kinder to the underpaid goats.

Ryan preferred the vulnerable, napping goats.

Washing hands after goat touching is a MUST.

Hey Ryan...

Hey Ryan. Jimmy Houston called. He wants his hair back.
