Oh Brother

There are so many differences between a first and second born. Some nature, some nurture, and the rest a direct result of having an older brother! Ryan is certainly more vocal than Reagan. It is funny to me how much more Ryan says at this age than his older brother did, but even funnier is WHAT he says. With Reagan it was sweet things such as "balloon" and "cat". With Ryan we get the sweet words, but also things like "NO WAY", "MINE" and our favorite, "AWW MAN!" I can't help but think his vocabulary is a result of hanging around a moody five year old boy each day.

He has been saying, "AWW MAN" for a while and uses it appropriately. When mommy catches a red light, when his favorite television program comes to an end, or when I make him put on his coat. I've tried to catch it on video with little success. This is as close as I got, but it is mostly an example of how I say "AWW MAN!"

It's Hard to Be Good

This morning, Reagan came in my room. The first thing out of his mouth was, "Mom, I'm not going to sin today." So sweet, and I am pleased he is paying attention at church, but I am so glad our God is a God of forgiveness! As you can probably guess, his quest for sinlessness did not last long. (This picture was actually taken this summer when he was learning to ride his bike, but came to mind when I thought of his struggle to be good!)

Beavers Bend

After Christmas, my family headed to the Beavers Bend area in Oklahoma for a few days. It was a perfect getaway and a chance to relax after all the chaos of Christmas. We had a great time just hanging out, playing outside with the boys and enjoying the cold, winter weather.
Nana and her crazy boys

Reagan and John spent much of their time working on the fire. Fire guys.

Beavers Bend Sasquatch sighting???

We have been cautious with chocolate in the past due to Reagan's peanut allergy. He has done well with Hershey's so we roasted marshmallows and let him have his first smore. The picture says it all.

Happy Campers

More smore.

Reagan took me on a walk down a trail he and John had found.

Not taking into account my fear of heights, he made me cross the creek via log. Crikey!

Then my hair got stuck in a tree. Guess he also failed to take into account that I am two feet taller than him.

Woo-hoo! Fireworks time!

While John and Reagan spent most of their time building fires, Ryan spent most of his time eating graham crackers.

Action shot! Reagan attempting to cross the creek by log again. Fell off the log and into the creek, but shook it off. Get that poor kid another smore.

A Very Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve - opening gifts from Mom and Dad

Reagan was really into the gifts this year. With each present he would say it was exactly what he wanted and that this was the best Christmas ever. Even when he opened the package of underwear.

Christmas Morning - Big brother helping Ryan get to the bottom of his stocking. Ryan got hung up on the candy canes.

Ryan got his own big boy train. More trains!

Happy customer.

The boys playing the new Wii.

Ryan enjoying the Christmas Vacation marathon.
