Hey Batter, Batter.

Ryan is playing his first season of baseball.  The league we chose does coach pitch even at this age.  (The pictures below are from a preseason scrimmage so they used the tee.)  Ryan manages to hit off the coach most of the time.  He seems mildly interested but has been known to moonwalk in the outfield or build dirt piles and erase baselines when infield.  It is always entertaining and I think there is nothing cuter than little guys in their baseball uniforms.

Looks thrilled, eh?

Warming up with Dad

This league also does a pre-game prayer.  Things you can do in East Texas!

Play Ball!

Love it.

He might be daydreaming about Cheetos, but he looks the part!

Losing interest...

I had my camera on paparazzi setting so I have enough shots to turn this into animation, but will spare you... slightly.

Holding my breath...

YAY!!  RUN!!!

Both my boys do this....why??

Showing the crowd some love.

Hurry!!

Almost!

Made it!

I heart you #14!

Western Day 2013

Here's another "last time" post.  Get used to it...I am sure there will be a few more before preschool is done next month!  I counted today and he only has TWELVE more days total.  I am dying and googling how to stop time.
For our final Western Day, Ryan chose to be an "Indian" instead of our usual cowboy.  At first I encouraged him to be a cowboy again, seeing how we have a closet full of cowboy attire from Western Days past, but decided to let him be his own person and honor his request.  So glad I did - I loved having a little Indian for out last performance.  As you may know, feathers and fringe are near and dear to this PNG Indian's heart.  :)

Looking fierce

Here they come....

His headdress ended up way back on his head and made for cockeyed feathers.  Very fitting!

I'm going to miss this!

Wax Museum

The second graders at Reagan's school put on a "Wax Museum" every spring.  The kids pick a "Great American" and study them for months - we have done reports, power point presentations, books, etc.  At the end of the unit, the students dress as their American and memorize a short summary of that person's life.  The teachers line them up in the gym and cafeteria and family members come and push the "button" sticker on their hand.  They say their lines then freeze back into position.  There were past presidents, first ladies, athletes, war heroes, civil rights leaders and even Steve Jobs. It was SO stinking cute and entertaining.   I am pleased to say that Reagan was a popular attraction, but he got so tired of reciting by the end he was as pale as his crazy wig.  He had suffered from the stomach bug this week and I was just waiting for him to puke on someone when they pushed his button.  He made it through and did a great job!     So proud of you Little Einstein!

The Last Preschool Egg Hunt

Today was our last official preschool party and egg hunt.  Hard to believe our preschool days will be over here in a few months.  It is certainly bittersweet, but I didn't leave feeling sad.  I guess because  1.  I am cold and heartless  2. It is kind of like pregnancy - when you get to the end, you are ready to move on to the next, albeit scary, stage.  I left feeling proud that we have survived this long and are moving on.

Ryan busted out of the gates and headed straight for the back of the playground - advice from his big brother.  Unfortunately he got called back.

Too much waiting!

This guy is crazy! BRING ON THE EGGS!

Losing it.

He's off!
Running while holding back of his pants which were falling off.
Back to the back of the playground.

Cleaning out the playhouse

This year they only let them find 12 each instead of as many as you want and then the mommies divide.  This seriously cramped Ryan's style.

Work it.
